What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a new virus different from influenza – it is more dangerous because it can cause sudden, severe breathing difficulties. For more information, please see the NSW Health FAQ page. More info is available from Surf Lifesaving NSW.

How do I know if I am at risk?

  1. Have you travelled overseas in the last 21 days?
  2. Have you shown any cold or flu symptoms?
  3. Have you had contact with anyone who has been unwell or tested positive for COVID-19?

Tathra SLSC Safety Plan in 5 Easy Steps

Step 1: Please stay isolated if you are at risk of having COVID-19 – please get tested and contact the Club COVID officer immediately.

Step 2: Keep your social distance – stay 1.5 metres apart in the clubhouse and on the beach.

Step 3: Record your name and phone number in the register at the club (just inside the front entrance.

Step 4: Only enter and exit the club using the coded entry door unless otherwise directed.

Step 5: Wash your hands before and after leaving the club. All equipment must be cleaned

In More Detail

  • Entry and exit to the Club is via the Code Door access on the carpark side of the Club unless directed otherwise. Any member can access the code by contacting the Club COVID Officer. Members will be asked the standard COVID screening questions to determine if they have any risk of infection.
  • All members entering the Club must clean their hands with the provided sanitiser and record their name and phone number in the registry book.
  • All members must maintain social distancing of 1.5 metres and avoid crowding.
  • When using the toilets/showers, members must use the provided sanitiser to clean frequent touch points on doors, flushing buttons and shower knobs, before and after use.
  • Toilets and change rooms will be considered danger areas and will be cleaned regularly when in frequent use and cleaned once a week as per NSW health guidelines.
  • Sporting equipment and rowing machines must be cleaned after use, and high touch areas sanitised before and after with the provided sanitiser.
  • At known busy times, the COVID Officer will monitor entrance ways and members to ensue Safety Plan compliance.
  • When a member enters the Club individually, they are to keep all the doors closed – entrance to the club is only after checking with the COVID officer.
  • Any member who shows COVID-19 symptoms must isolate and get tested. They must also contact the Club COVID Officer immediately to alert other members.
